Shoe Savers: Saving Soles for Three Generations

Scraped or cut heels are not a problem as we can recover them in a variety of new materials including kidskin, calfskin, suede, stacked veneers and even exotic skins. We also stock a large selection of replacement heels should you have a broken heel or just want to change the style for a different appearance. We can lower heels for added comfort and install Vibram sole protectors for added cushioning, traction, and durability.Click on the  sole protector link to the left to learn more about Vibram® sole protectors. We have the ability and knowledge to resole and restore today's couture shoes without destroying the original appearance. Never fear your thin soled shoes such as Manolos  and Jimmy Choos will remain thin! We offer several different varieties of toplift materials to suit the individual customer's needs. These are only some of the services we offer. We suggest you visit our shop should you need other repairs. One of our staff will be most happy to assist you.
Shoe Savers Ladies Shoe Repair
In order to gain more insight as to our procedures, let us take you through the steps involved in resoling a ladies shoe:
 Sockliners are removed.
Toplifts are removed.
Out soles are carefully removed from the upper.
Where applicable, old stitches are completely removed from the insoles or welts if necessary. Upper is roughened for proper adhesion.
Filler is replaced where applicable.
Half  sole joints are carefully skived to match the replacement sole so that the finished sole blends smoothly with no lumps or high spots. New soles are placed far enough back in the shank so that the joint does not break loose. This holds true even for the newer longer lasted high fashion shoes such as Manolo Blahnik and others.
New soles of the proper thickness are applied and trimmed. Round or square edges are used appropriately.
We use an industrial splitter to exactly match the thickness of the original sole.
Heel bases and toplifts are replaced, leveled, and sanded three times for proper angles and a glasslike finish.
After edge finishing, soles are sanded twice before finishing.
Soles are hand waxed with a neutral wax – no artificial stains or colors are used. If appropriate, soles can also be finished in black or brown to match original factory color as in some Ferrogamos and Pradas or left sueded such as are Manolo Blahniks or Jimmy Choos. We can even duplicate certain colors of bottom finish such as the famous red soles found on Christian Louboutin shoes.
Shoes are completely shined by hand and the sock liners are then put  back into the shoe or replaced if necessary.
